Packaging Incorporated is pleased to announce the completion of our first six sigma conference. Executives from United Packaging headquarted in Crosby, MN and have 5 manufacturing plants in Minnesota and Wisconsin were present for the one day event.
” It really opened our eyes to a different way of looking at things. Bob and Derek did a great job of relating six sigma terms and concepts to our daily lives. This will benefit us greatly as we move forward with our growth plans and lean manufacturing initiatives within our organization.”

We are currently seeking a salesperson to cover the Twin Cities market. Position requires prospecting for new business as well as maintaining an existing book of business. This position will focus on Industrial Packaging and Fastening opportunities.
Two months into our Packaging Review Initiative and we have many success stories to share. Several customers have enjoyed seeing new products and new solutions to age old problems….. as well as solutions to problems they didnt even know they had, but we’re discovered via the analysis. Some of the solutions have come in the form of new battery operated polyester strapping tools by ITW Signode and Fromm Packaging. We have successfully converted steel strap users to plastic strap, even traditionally unfeasible applications thru the utilization of Fromm’s new P330 cordless tool for 1″ polyester strap. We have also utilized Cold-Seal, Bubble-On-Demand, Foam-N-Place, high performance stretchfilm and non-traditional edge protection to improve efficiencies and lower overall packaging and operational costs for many other Packaging Analysis recipients. Thus far its been very successful and created solid partnerships resulting in a win-win scenario for all!
Upward pricing pressure for steel and plastics continues to be the talk of of the industry. Our first attempt at “in-the-box” product protection/void fill was with Fromm Packaging Systems “Airpad”. We have been promoting it for six plus years, it has been a remarkable product line for us and offers many unique packaging options. It often times replaces more traditional void fillers like peanuts, foam, bubble wrap and paper….. You can change pillow size with the touch of a button and use various film thicknesses to adapt to your needs…..some will even withstand a several hundred pound man jumping up and down on them….(pics/video coming soon). The Fromm Airpad equipment is very robust and is optimized in a high volume situation….which means it may not be the answer for everyone. But, if you have a challenging package, are looking for cost savings, and want to use a curbside recyclable product Fromm Airpad is a great choice!
Well, 2010 is off and running and things are on the move…..word from our sales force indicates an up-tick in several of our customer segments. Dismal attitudes have been replaced in large part by positive optimism. Thank heavens! At P.I. /CP Supply we have many new programs and products that we have launched in the past 12 months and we will begin showcasing them here in the very near future. We hope you find “The Brink Tank” informative, helpful, and maybe even a little entertaining. We will try!
